Kitchen Video Display Systems Successful in Table Service

The Case for Kitchen Video Monitor Systems

There is a definite upwards trend in the adoption of kitchen display systems in table service restaurant environments, which is no surprise given the value such systems can provide. As stated on POS Advice’s blog, kitchen display systems have proven to increase operational efficiency in the kitchen.  Maitre’D introduced table service features for its CVM Kitchen Video Display System over a year ago (click to read article). Since then, we’ve enhanced the table service feature set and on-boarded a few hundred customers that have provided valuable feedback and helped us to improve the table service solution.

Marc-Antoine Gagnon, IT Consultant at Groupe Sportscene, Inc., parent company of Quebec-based restaurant chain La Cage aux Sports with 50 locations, states: “Our main objective in implementing the CVM Kitchen Display System is to increase operational efficiency in the kitchen. In the longer term, we will also be able to get more sophisticated in our analysis of average prep times in the kitchen and put an action plan into place to further streamline operations.”

Chris Reiff, CVM Product Manager at Posera, adds: “Our CVM kitchen display system has been in the quick service market for over 25 years now. Our goal with the CVM product was to extend its functionality and offer a highly competitive solution from both a features and pricing standpoint for the table service market. Adding table service functionality and enhancing the CVM solution was an obvious decision to make, given the scope of Maitre’D’s customer base in both the quick service and table service markets.”

The CVM Kitchen Video Display System is fully integrated with Maitre’D POS and offers a host of new features such as full touch screen support, ability to connect up to 10 CVMs and monitors can be standard LCD or wide screen format, ability to display up to 20 orders per screen, order confirmation screen feature for drive-thru operations, an order timing option allows the server to hold certain items within an order for a specified amount of time, and display recipes on CVM monitors, including graphics and prep instructions.
