Maitre'D Reviewed in PCMag's Best POS Software of 2016

If you read this post you know that we look at POS features in today’s market as important, but not the most important differentiators for same-class POS systems. Maitre’D is feature rich, and so are the best of our competitors. I made the case that what sets companies apart in a saturated market is far more than features—it’s service, credibility, training and more. Well, in one sense PC Magazine disagrees with me. They think features are very important. And they think that Maitre’D is the pick of the features litter. “Excellent” was their review of Maitre’D in the January 22 issue of the magazine.

They do focus on our features—and throw serious praise our way. But overall, the review supports the case I made in that earlier post.

Their review isn’t performed in a test lab vacuum. They talk with some of our customers and learn from them what they like about it as well. Everyone values the features, of course. But their focus on the value of our system extends beyond features, and it extends in every direction.

Here's what some of those customers said.

For John Thelan, Director of Operations for Duke’s Chowder House, it was our “reliability and durability.” He considers Maitre’D the iron horse of his infrastructure: it’s never down and never crashes. On the features side, he’s a fan for two reasons: one (as our product overview says) is because “Maitre’D Has It All”: that is, every feature he finds in other systems, he already has with us. And two, he’s pleased that almost all those critical features are in the core POS system.

Abigail Stansfield, owner of Juicy Café, boasts the quality of our support. When she talks about our support services, she uses words like “standout”.

For Dominc Fallara, Administrative Director for the Buona Restaurants chain of 16 restaurants, it’s Maitre’D’s compatibility with the broad range of third-party tools and applications that hits the sweet spot. Because of that, he finds Maitre’D to be “a one stop shop.”

The review also highlighted our mobile solutions, the quality of our training, our analytics, our back office and more.

When you read it you’ll find out: not even Maitre’D gets an A++ on everything. There’s always room to improve.
